Keep all 23 students in school
Cover annual tuition, school feeding, and required supplies at GS Kibuye so financial barriers never push a child back to the street.
Launch family livestock support
One pig per family — with shelters, feed, vet care, and farming workshops — so families build income that outlasts the donation.
Continue mentorship and workshops
Ongoing one-on-one mentoring and group sessions on emotional wellness, goal-setting, and life skills for every child.
A year of steady building.
Foundations
Pay tuition, school feeding, and supplies for all 23 students. Purchase pigs, begin construction of pig shelters, and run initial family farming workshops.
Care and follow-up
Provide pig feed and veterinary support. Continue family training. Monitor school attendance and student well-being. Hold mentorship sessions and student workshops.
Stability and measurement
Track family income progress, pig health, school retention, and academic participation. Run follow-up workshops and targeted support for families facing additional challenges.
A replicable model.
In the long term, Barere aims to build a model of child support that combines education, family strengthening, mentorship, and income-generating resources — one that can be repeated in vulnerable communities across Rwanda.
Success isn't only measured in classrooms. It's measured in households that no longer fear hunger, in parents who can plan past next week, and in children who are finally free to imagine a future beyond survival.
