Nurturing the next generation, one child at a time.

A Home. A Future. For Every Child.

Our Belief

Every child deserves a chance — regardless of where they come from.

Over 7,000 children in Rwanda spend their lives on the streets due to poverty, family instability, or neglect. This cycle makes formal education unreachable and expose the kids to crimes, hunger, and exploitation.

Barere is made to solve that!

Barere — meaning "nurture them" — takes a whole-child approach. A child's success in school is inseparable from their home, their sense of belonging, and their mental wellness.

How We Work

Three connected pillars

Education

Tuition, school feeding, and supplies for all 23 students at GS Kibuye — removing the financial barriers that keep children out of school.

Family Livelihood

One pig and five chickens per family, with shelters, feed, vet care, and farming workshops — building income that lasts beyond one donation.

Mentorship

One-on-one mentoring and workshops in emotional wellness, goal-setting, and life skills — listening to each child as their own person.

Impact So Far

Five months in, the work is already changing lives.

Day of Action

Faces, families, and the classrooms holding all of it together.

These photos were taken during our most recent day of action with families in Kibuye — workshops, school visits, and meals shared in the very classrooms where the children now learn.

From survival to stability. From exclusion to education.

An investment in Barere is an investment in family restoration — the kind that keeps children in school for years, not weeks.
